What Is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain works, particularly in areas of attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. It’s characterised by persistent patterns of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that can interfere with daily life and development.
In recent years, ADHD has been increasingly recognised and diagnosed as understanding of the condition is improving. Some other terms includes ‘neurodevelopmental condition’, ‘neurodivergent’ and ‘neurotypical’ which describes how all our brains are wired differently.
There are three types of ADHD:

ADHD combined
This is the most common type when someone presents with significant differences in activity and impulsivity and attention and concentration

ADHD inattentive
This is characterised mainly by attention and concentration difficulties but not hyperactivity and impulsivity

ADHD impulsive/
hyperactive
